Rail freight link to Tartus port
The Tartus branch of the Syrian General Railway Corporation began rehabilitating the line linking Tartus port to Talkalkh station in the western Homs countryside on 24 April 2026, on a three month schedule. The route is used to haul phosphate and gas toward the port, and its first phase was reported complete in May 2026.
