Tourism development on Mount Qassioun, Damascus
Damascus Governorate and the Ministry of Tourism launched Qassioun Journey on 21 April 2026 to open Mount Qassioun as a public cultural and tourism destination; the governor announced over 7,000 expected jobs. Three banks finance the final phase, and he targets an opening in summer 2027.
